Additionally, the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending maintains a recovery fund to reimburse certain out-of-pocket damages suffered by borrowers due to acts committed by licensed residential mortgage loan originators. To apply for reimbursement, a written application must be submitted to the Department for investigation before any payment is made. More details about the recovery fund are available on the Department’s website.
